When a child needs an operation, the anesthesia service is critical to insuring safe and effective surgery. At The Children's Hospital at Scott & White, the pediatric anesthesia team is led by staff members with special training in pediatrics and children's anesthesia.

Jolene D. Bean-Lijewski, M.D., Ph.D.- Director, Division of Pediatric Anesthesia
- Dr. Bean-Lijewski is an associate professor of Anesthesiology. She is the director of the Division of Pediatric Anesthesia and chief of the Section of Children's Pain Service. Her specialty training includes a fellowship at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore.

Kent F. Elliott, M.D.- Dr. Elliott is an assistant clinical professor of Anesthesiology. He trained at the University of Tennessee and Oklahoma Children's Memorial Hospital in Tulsa.
