When a child needs an operation, the anesthesia service is critical to insuring safe and effective surgery. At The Children's Hospital at Scott & White, the pediatric anesthesia team is led by staff members with special training in pediatrics and children's anesthesia.

Jolene D. Bean-Lijewski, M.D., Ph.D.

Director, Division of Pediatric Anesthesia

Dr. Bean-Lijewski is an associate professor of Anesthesiology. She is the director of the Division of Pediatric Anesthesia and chief of the Section of Children's Pain Service. Her specialty training includes a fellowship at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore.

Kent F. Elliott, M.D.

Dr. Elliott is an assistant clinical professor of Anesthesiology. He trained at the University of Tennessee and Oklahoma Children's Memorial Hospital in Tulsa.
