Sports Medicine

Our Sports Medicine physicians have served as team physicians in the NFL, in Major League Baseball, and at the college and high school level, but you don't have to be a team athlete to take advantage of the Sports Medicine care offered at a Top 15 teaching hospital*. Our Sports Medicine staff treats patients from all walks of life, offering many treatments and procedures found at only a few other medical centers in the region.

Our Specialists

Our board certified Orthopedic surgeons, each fellowship trained in Sports Medicine and arthroscopic surgery, make Scott & White the medical center of choice for sports medicine patients across the region. Our Sports Medicine surgeons hold faculty positions at Texas A&M University Medical School, and our doctors have served as team physicians in the NFL, in Major League Baseball, and at the college and high school level.

An athletic trainer, physical and occupational therapists augment the physician care for sports injuries. With a wealth of expertise on staff, the Division of Sports Medicine provides patients with professional medical care from diagnosis through recovery.

Robert E. Reeve, M.D.

Dr. Robert E. Reeve, Director of the Division of Sports Medicine, received his medical degree and fellowship training in Sports Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Reeve has served as a team physician for franchises in both Major League Baseball and the NFL and is one of the team physicians for Temple High School. He currently holds a faculty appointment as assistant professor of surgery at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine.

William P. Hamilton, M.D.

Dr. Hamilton received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and his fellowship training in Sports Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He's also a team physician for Temple High School. Dr. Hamilton serves as an assistant professor of surgery at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine.

Derek K. Lichota, M.D.

Dr. Lichota received his medical degree from the Texas A&M University System Health Science Center College of Medicine and his fellowship training in Sports Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He is the Team Doctor for Belton High School and Team Doctor for the Belton Arena football team - The Barracudas. He serves as an assistant professor of surgery at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine.

Scott M. Munroe, M.D.

Dr. Scott M. Munroe, Director of the Division of Foot & Ankle Surgery, received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He specializes in orthopedic conditions of the foot and ankle, and received fellowship training in Foot & Ankle and Sports Medicine care from the Institute of Bone & Joint Disorders in Phoenix. Dr. Munroe serves on the faculty of the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine.
