Lone Star Circle of Life Bike Tour
The Title Honoree Photo Page
The Lone Star Circle of Life Bike Tour is honored to pay tribute to Spencer Squire, our 2008 Bike Tour title honoree.
The 2008 Title Honoree for the Lone Star Circle of Life was quite the unusual young man. This little kindergartner was full of life and love. After Spencer's death from a malignant brain tumor, his family shared that life and love with with others through donation of Spencer's liver and tissues.
For being only six years old, Spencer Squire has touched as many lives as most adults have. He was big into athletics of all kinds – football, basketball, baseball, soccer, golf, tennis and swimming. He was not just "on the team," but was a true team player, supporting his teammates and his coaches. Spencer was the type of kid that always thanked his coaches.
One of the big loves of Spencer's life was the Texas A&M Aggies. A quick look at Spencer's website will show that Aggies loved Spencer just as much. And it was not just Aggie football, but anything Aggie – baseball, soccer, tennis – name it. If it was Aggie, Spencer was a fan.
This year, the Lone Star Circle of Life team will be riding the first day from Houston to Aggieland and this photo of Spencer's "Gig 'em" will be in our minds and our hearts as we honor a young man's gift of life.
We would like to invite you to visit Spencer's web site to learn about this remarkable young man. You can also read the article from the 12th Man Magazine by Rusty Burson and the article from Southwest Transplant Alliance' newsletter for more about Spencer.
