Join us as we get fit and have fun Saturday, May 10 with the first-ever Bat-Stravaganza Fun Run and Family Festival at Scott & White University Medical Campus in Round Rock.
All registration proceeds will benefit the Williamson County Children's Advocacy Center.
Race Day Schedule
May 10, 2008
- 7:30-9 a.m. – Registration and check-in
- Morning snacks such as juices, coffee, breakfast tacos and energy bars will be available for race participants, volunteers and VIPs.
- 8:30-9 a.m. – Kids' 1K run
- All children participating in the race will receive a ribbon.
- 9 a.m. – Bat-Stravaganza Fun Run
- The fun run starts at Scott & White, and the course will continue through the Teravista neighborhood, ending back at Scott & White.
- 9:30-Noon – Family Festival
- Adults and kids alike can enjoy the events, relax and grab a snack.
- 10:30-11:30am – Biscuit Brothers
- Join Buford, Dusty, Tiny and Buttermilk Biscuit for some great music.
- 11:30-Noon – Wrap up
- Award ceremony and a thank you to participants and sponsors.
Why Bat-Stravaganza?
Because Central Texas is known for its population of Mexican free-tailed bats, we want to celebrate this beneficial and ecologically important flying mammal with activities of interest to kids and adults alike. We hope you will join us as we continue to build our presence and commitment to the Williamson County community.
Fun Run
The 2008 inaugural Scott & White Bat-Stravaganza is a non-competitive, family fun run and walk for all ages and athletic abilities.
The race will be unofficially timed for interested runners.
The fun run starts at Scott & White, and the course will continue through the Teravista neighborhood, ending back at Scott & White.
Water stations will be at the 1- and 2-mile markers and medals will be awarded to the first place female and male.
Family Festival
For us, it's not just about the run – it's also about building community and celebrating our families.
In addition to the run, we're hosting a day of family-friendly events
- Biscuit Brothers concert
- Moonwalks, puppet shows, caricatures and many other exciting "Bat"-tivities
- Chair massages
- Fitness and wellness tips from our physicians and other healthcare professionals
All event activities will be held at the beautiful new Scott & White University Medical Campus.

Race volunteers will meet the evening before the race for a Kick-Off event.
May 9, 6 - 8 p.m. – Volunteer Kick-Off- Volunteer party and orientation, including handing out t-shirts and great prizes. Location: UMC cafeteria
