Plummer Movement Disorders Center
A National Parkinson Foundation Care Center
The Plummer Movement Disorders Center is a division of the Neurology department at Scott & White Hospital. The Center is a National Parkinson Foundation-designated Care Center, with an interdisciplinary team that focuses on providing comprehensive care for people with Parkinson disease and their care-partners. The Center also provides outreach and education to communities and health care providers throughout Central Texas.
Our interdisciplinary team includes a movement disorders specialist, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and a music therapist. Also serving on the team is a Master's-prepared social worker and a registered nurse. Community outreach programs include community symposiums for patients, caregivers and health care providers; PD 101 classes for newly diagnosed patients/care-partners; health fairs; speakers for organizational meetings; and support group organization/facilitation.
To schedule a consultation with our movement disorders specialist see your primary care physician or neurologist for a referral. The physician referral number is 800-792-3368 or 254-724-2218. If you have previously been seen in our center, call 254-724-4179 to set up an appointment.
