Pedorthics and Footwear Center
What is Pedorthics?
Pedorthics is the design, manufacture, fit and modification of shoes and related foot appliances as prescribed to help relieve painful and/or disabling conditions of the foot and limb.
The pedorthics team is part of the Division of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. Staffed with three full-time, board-certified pedorthists trained to measure and fit shoes and inserts for children and adults, this department meets the special needs of patients with diabetes, amputations and deforming arthritis. Pedorthists are available by appointment only.
A fully functioning fabrication lab manufactures custom prescription shoe orthoses (orthotics) and bracing for our patients. You will need a doctor's prescription for these items.
Scott & White Footwear Center
Our retail Footwear Center carries shoes, shoe supplies, various bandaging and wound care supplies, pads and foot-related products not found at other local stores.
Although an appointment is required to see a pedorthist, the Footwear Center is open for walk-in visits during regular business hours (Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p. m.).
