To be a candidate for weight loss surgery, you should:

  • Have a body mass index (BMI) 30 or great (however, most insurances require a BMI of 35 or greater with a co-mordid condition*)

  • High blood pressure
  • Heart disease and stroke
  • Sleep apnea
