Our Lifestyle Change class begins your transition to healthy lifestyle behaviors that will improve your overall health and well-being. When you attend your first appointment with one of our nurse practitioners, you will be given a Lifestyle Change class schedule. You are required to attend one Lifestyle Change class prior to your bariatric surgery.

During this one hour class, you’ll receive information about healthy food choices, meal planning and exercise, and we’ll discuss these topics in detail.

We’ll also review our five post-surgery program guidelines:

• Protein first
• No snacking
• Lots of water
• Daily exercise
• Daily vitamin and mineral supplements

Classes are held monthly. At the end of class, you will complete and turn in a Lifestyle Change contract. This will also provide verification that you attended the class.

Please do not bring children under the age of 16 years old to the class. Young children may be disruptive to the group. This is time for adult education only.

The Scott & White Main Campus is conveniently located in Temple, Texas on the I-35 corridor. Lifestyle Change classes are held in the Conference Center (Building 26) on the southeast side of the campus.

2013 Class Schedule

All classes will be held at 4:15 p.m. in the Conference Center at Scott & White in Temple. We encourage you to stay after class and attend a support group meeting at 5:30 p.m.
