Scott & White Healthcare of Temple, Texas has finalized plans for the new Lake of the Hills Regional Medical Center which will be located just south of Marble Falls at the intersection of US 281 and State Highway 71.
Marble Falls City Council has approved running all water services to the site. Upon completion of the utility lines — projected for 2009 or early 2010 — construction will immediately commence. Construction is projected at nine months for a new medical office building and between 18 and 24 months for the hospital.

- After discussions with several hospitals, Lake of the Hills officials announced Temple-based Scott & White Healthcare had committed to open a full-service regional medical center near the intersection of Highways 281 and 71.

- In a signing ceremony at Marble Falls City hall developers Armand and Molly Biglari and Sam Martin donate 18 acres of land to Lake of the Hills Regional Medical Center.
- OCTOBER 2007 – Development Offices open
- Scott & White opens Development Offices in Marble Falls and Horseshoe Bay in support of the Lake of the Hills project.
- JANUARY 2008 – City-Developer agreement reached
- Marble Falls city officials reached an agreement with local developers to extend water lines to reach the construction site of the Lake of the Hills Regional Medical Center.
- FEBRUARY 2008 – Hospital board approves management agreement
- Llano County Hospital Authority Board approved a landmark agreement naming Scott & White the manager of operations at Llano Memorial Hospital. The arrangement will begin in the spring. The agreement secures the hospital’s future as a continuing resource for healthcare in Llano.
- FEBRUARY 2008 – Campaign steering committee announced
- Community members have formed a campaign steering committee to help generate philanthropic support to enhance the medical services of the new healthcare facility. Co-chairs Jim Jones and Bob Sewell lead the 18-member team which includes Jean Anderson, Wayne Anderson, Larry Denney, Nona Fox, Lou Henson, Wayne Hurd, Mike Jenkins, John Kemper, David Mitchell,
Ron Mitchell, Randy Pipkin, Stevie Pipkin, John Racz, Morrison Smith, Steve Smith and Marion Weyrauch.
- FEBRUARY 2008 – Hoerster physicians join Scott & White
- An agreement aligns Hoerster Clinic and the Scott & White healthcare system. The arrangement, effective April 1, will welcome 22 Hoerster-associated physicians as the newest members of the Scott & White staff, the state's largest group practice system with more than 600 physicians.
- FEBRUARY 2008 – Scott & White options more land
- Scott & White officials announce the acquisition of an additional 22 acres at the site of the Lake of the Hills Regional Medical Center adjacent to the 18 acres donated by developers Armand and Molly Biglari and Sam Martin. The expansion to 40 acres will ensure that the site can accommodate anticipated future growth.
