Sunshine Gift Shop

The Scott & White Auxiliary operates the Sunshine Gift Shop offering cards, balloons, and other gift items. Proceeds from the Sunshine Gift Shop help fund various Scott & White programs, including Children's Miracle Network, Wellness & Sexual Health, Marrow Donor Program, SANE, local scholarships to students pursuing a degree in healthcare and newspaper delivery to patients.

Blood Donation Center

Make a blood donation and make a real impact in your community. All the blood donated to Scott & White stays at Scott & White, so it will be here to help your friends, family and neighbors.

Visiting Hours

Visiting hours in the hospital are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Patients are allowed one family member to remain with them.  Visitors are allowed in the ICU 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Patient Rooms and Privacy

To assure privacy for each patient in a two-person room, visitors are not allowed to spend the night in semi-private rooms. Additionally, there are times when visitors will be asked to leave the room when the other patient is receiving care.

Your name may appear on a census board at the nursing desk to assist all of your care givers as they organize your care. If you wish your name not to appear on this board, your room door or other areas, please inform the nursing staff. The omission of your name will in no way compromise your care. Likewise, if for any reason you wish your admission as a patient at Scott & White not to be made known should you receive telephone calls or inquiries, please tell the nursing staff who will notify the hospital telephone operator.


Public-use telephones can be found at information booths located within the Brindley Circles, North and South Tower entrances.

Smoking Policy

As a leader in promoting healthy lifestyles, Scott & White is the first Central Texas healthcare organization to make the move to a tobacco-free environment. For the health of all, Scott & White asks that you refrain from indoor and outdoor tobacco use while on the property of any Scott & White facility.

Financial Services

Patient Financial Services handles all patient billing questions or concerns.

Discharge Information

Small equipment items are available that are not intended to be disposable or taken home on discharge. These items include: remote controls for TV, telephone, heating pads, clocks, calendars, linens and pillows

Other items are one-patient use items which you are welcome to take home with you. These items include: plastic bedpans, urinals, emesis basins and bath basins. Dressings and other hospital supplies may be given to you by your nurse or other staff.

Usual discharge time is before 11:00 a.m. but depends on your physician and other care givers completing your care. You will receive instructions from your physician and nurses as well as other members of the care team on the day of discharge. Please do not leave the unit until you have been given these instructions in writing by the R.N. on duty.

Student Involvement

Scott & White is a teaching institution. On occasion, care may be provided by students because they are in an approved education program. A Scott & White staff member will always be involved in all aspects of care in addition to student care given.

Accepted cards: Interact, Pulse, Plus, Mpact, Cirrus, Diners Club, VISA and MasterCard.

Mail and Stamps

Personal mail may be given to the nurse or unit clerk for mailing. Mail is delivered to patients by volunteers.

Mail Room
Located on the ground floor in Room 32, adjacent to the Brindley Circles elevators.
Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Mail is picked up twice each day. Stamps can be purchased individually or in books. For more information, call 254-724-2201.

Mail Box
Located on the ground floor next to the Brindley Circles elevators.

Mail Drop
Located on each floor next to the Brindley Circles and Special Treatment Center elevators.

Security and Lost and Found

Security officers are available 24 hours a day. The Security Office is located in entrance of the Emergency Department on the ground floor of the South Tower. To contact the Security Office for non-emergencies, call 254-724-2344.
