Scott & White receives $25,000 from the Waco Foundation for new Cancer Center at Hillcrest
CENTRAL TEXAS, Texas – The Scott & White Healthcare Foundation has been awarded a grant of $25,000 by the Masterson Fund of the Waco Foundation to the campaign for the new Scott & White Cancer Center – Hillcrest in Waco.
"The generosity of the Waco Foundation is bringing us one step further to opening the doors of this center that will provide the highest quality cancer care, right here to the Waco community," said Nancy Birdwell, chief development officer for Scott & White Healthcare and executive vice president and CEO of the Scott & White Healthcare Foundation.
The grant will be used to expand advanced cancer diagnostic and treatment technologies at the new Scott & White Cancer Center – Hillcrest.
"The Scott & White Cancer Center – Hillcrest will have state-of-the-art diagnostics, treatment, and support services, and it will provide comprehensive care and healing for our patients battling cancer," said Glenn Robinson FACHE, chief executive officer for Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center – Scott & White Healthcare. "We are honored to be the continued beneficiary of our great community’s generosity," he affirmed.
Construction on the cancer building began in November 2012.
"We have seen incredible generosity and support from the Waco community over the course of this campaign," said Rhonda Hall, Scott & White Healthcare Foundation development director for the Waco region. "To date $4,127,968 has been raised from 880 donors for the new cancer center."
Established in 1958, the Waco Foundation provides a wide-range of charitable services to Waco and McLennan County. The mission of the Waco Foundation is to promote solutions to community challenges, strengthen local nonprofits, engage philanthropists, and manage charitable assets in order to improve quality of life in McLennan County.
