Scott & White Healthcare to break ground on new clinic space in Kingsland

CENTRAL TEXAS, Texas – In order to better serve the needs of Hill Country patients, Scott & White Healthcare has announced it will break ground on a new 15,000-foot clinic at the intersection of FM 2342 and RM 1431 in Kingsland. A groundbreaking ceremony with staff, community leaders and representatives from the Kingsland Chamber of Commerce will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2012 at the construction site.

Currently, Scott & White maintains a Kingsland clinic at 2112 RM 1431. The new clinic, which is expected to be open by August 2012, will feature 16 exam rooms, two treatment rooms, an occupational therapy room, on-site X-ray, laboratory services, and will accommodate up to seven full-time physicians. The facility will replace the current space, and include primary care, rehab services (physical therapy), occupational and speech therapy services, and rotating specialties. The location will also house the Kingsland Emergency Medical Services (EMS) station.

“By combining all of our Kingsland entities into one location, we can better serve our patients and bring them the care they need closer to home,” said Kevin Leeper, CEO, Scott & White Healthcare - Llano. “When we combine doctors and therapists in one location, it’s a win-win for our patients and physicians.”

“The move will be cost effective,” Leeper continued. “We were in need of a better physical plant, one that will provide for utility efficiency and better parking for our patients in addition to being able to offer a separate waiting area for children. The new clinic will offer more convenient care in the right place at the right time for patients coming in from Kingsland and surrounding communities.”

Kim Russell, M.D., family medicine physician at the current Scott & White Clinic – Kingsland, and its medical director added, “All of the physicians and advanced practice professionals currently providing services at the Scott & White Clinic in Kingsland will continue seeing patients at the new location once it opens later this year.” In addition to Dr. Russell, physician staff includes Grady Miller, D. O., John Frederick, M.D., Janice Pruessner, M.D. and Ryan Morris, D.O. All are family practitioners with Dr. Miller and Morris, offering obstetrical care as well.

Scott & White signed an agreement with developer Highline Real Estate Group of Dallas to build and lease the new space, which sits on a two-acre lot. More information about Scott & White clinics can be found by visiting http://www.sw.org/location-search.
