Scott & White - Round Rock Elects Nurse to Governing Board

CENTRAL TEXAS, Texas – Kelly L. Harris, RN, BSN, has been elected to the Scott & White Healthcare – Round Rock board of directors. Harris was elected to the board during the January meeting. She has been an emergency department charge nurse at Scott & White – Round Rock since 2007 and is the first registered nurse to be elected to the Scott & White – Round Rock board.

The Scott & White Healthcare - Round Rock board provides oversight and guidance for the Scott & White hospital and clinics in Williamson and north Travis counties. Members are selected on the basis of their experience and expertise while serving as volunteers; they are not compensated for their service.

Harris, before joining Scott & White – Round Rock’s emergency department, served as a Telemetry Staff Nurse, Emergency Department Educator, ACLS Program Coordinator, and Emergency Department Charge Nurse at Seton Medical Center in Austin. Later, she went on to serve as Director of Nursing at Urgent Care Plus.

Harris obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Houston Baptist University and is certified in CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and trauma nursing. Harris has also been on several medical missions in the last several years to Mexico, Haiti, and El Salvador.Other members of the Scott & White – Round Rock Board include:
