Construction progresses, leadership team finalized at new Scott & White Hospital

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Scott  & White Healthcare continues to prepare for the opening of its new hospital, while looking to its local leadership team to continue a tradition of high quality care and service excellence in the region.

The second phase of "mock room" construction for the new Scott & White Hospital – College Station is underway.  Staff members are getting a sneak peek at full-size replicas of the intensive care unit (ICU), emergency department and operating rooms. Caregivers who work in these areas, including nurses, physicians, technicians and other support staff, are invited to tour the rooms and test the functionality of the equipment and space.  Tours of a mock medical/surgical room and labor and delivery room were completed last December.

As progress continues on the new facility, Scott & White's deepening commitment to the Brazos Valley is being managed through a recently finalized administrative structure that partners a physician leader with a strong team of seasoned health care executives.

William Rayburn, MD, who has served as chief medical officer (CMO) for Scott & White College Station clinics, directs all physician activities in the region, including the medical practices at Scott & White Hospital – Brenham and its clinics, as well as the new College Station Hospital. Dr. Rayburn is an associate professor at Texas A&M University Health Science Center College of Medicine.  He earned both of his bachelor's degrees from Texas A&M University and a medical degree from Texas A&M University Health Science Center College of Medicine.  He has been serving this community as an obstetrician/gynecologist for more than 20 years.

Jason Jennings, FACHE, MBA, serves as chief executive officer (CEO) of the new College Station Hospital, and also has responsibilities for the administrative oversight of the College Station and Brenham clinics as the chief operating officer (COO) of the College Station Region.  Prior to joining Scott & White in College Station, Jennings served as the chief operating officer for Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, part of the Scott & White Healthcare system. Jennings is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences.  He also holds master’s degrees in physical therapy and business administration from the University of Texas Medical Branch and the University of Texas at Tyler, respectively.   He is board certified in health care management by the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Linda Clark, FACMPE, MHA, administrator of the Scott & White Clinic - College Station, has been with Scott & White for 20 years. She will continue her key role on the leadership team managing daily operations of the College Station and Brenham clinics. Clark holds a bachelor's degree in community health from Texas A&M University and a master's of health administration from Texas A&M University Health Science Center. She is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives.

Another important team member helping to align and coordinate efforts for the region is John Simms, who has served more than 30 years as CEO of what is now known as Scott & White Hospital – Brenham. He earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Trinity University in San Antonio. Simms is a member of the Texas Hospital Association's Council for Policy Development and is active in community service in Brenham and Washington County.

Clayton Kolodziejczyk, associate vice president of Finance, is the newest member of the Scott & White College Station regional team. He earned his bachelor's of business administration in accounting from the University of Houston.  Kolodziejczyk has 12 years of health care experience and prior to joining Scott & White, served as chief financial officer of LifePoint Healthcare.

"The Scott & White College Station regional presence is expected to grow tremendously in the next five years," said Pat Currie, COO, Scott & White Healthcare. "These leaders have deep ties to the community and their understanding of the region’s health care needs will enhance our ability to better serve the Brazos Valley."
