Texas Partners Makes Contribution to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals

- Credit union gives to make miracles happen -

TEMPLE, TX - The Texas Partners Federal Credit Union has given a $13,400 contribution to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The funds, which were delivered on November 15, will benefit children served by Children's Hospital Scott & White, a regional member of Children's Miracle Network.

"Children's Miracle Network is such an important part of the Central Texas community," said Shelley Carlson, director of marketing for Texas Partners FCU. "The number of local children helped by this organization over the years is incredible. You start talking to a group of people and inevitably someone has been touched by their good work - either themselves, or one of their children, or a grandchild, or a niece or nephew, or a neighbor. Someone they care about has been helped. That is why the membership of Texas Partners is passionate about raising money for Children's Miracle Network. We know that 100 percent of the money stays local to help our local children's hospital and our local kiddos."

Scott & White joined the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in 1986 and since that time, more than $12 million has been contributed to help support The Children's Hospital Scott & White. The Children's Hospital Scott & White provides medical services to a region that encompasses more than 29,000 square miles and serves children of all ages and backgrounds for every imaginable disease and injury - from asthma and broken bones to cancer and heart defects.

This donation was made possible through a variety of fundraisers. From May through September, members and employees were involved in cook outs, selling Miracle Balloon icons, Miracle Jeans Day events, a bowling tournament, and many more fundraisers throughout the five months.

"The four locations (Temple, Belton, Killeen, and Copperas Cove) set their 2011 goal at $9,500, and as you see the employees and members answered the call to action and gave above and beyond," said Kellie Tiner, Children's Miracle Network manager for the Children's Hospital Scott & White and the Central Texas Region. "This donation will help local children get the medical care they need close to home.”
