Why would I want to see a cardiologist?
You might see a cardiologist if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms of a heart attack:
- Severe chest pain, often a heaviness or crushing feeling
- Shortness of breath – with or without chest comfort
- Sweating
- Pain or discomfort in other areas of the upper body, including the arms, back, neck or jaw
- The pain, wherever its location, may only last a few minutes or come and go for several hours before becoming severe.
- Nausea or vomiting
You might see a cardiologist if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms of a stroke:
- Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
- Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
