Standardized Patient Program

Details:

Individuals ages 8 months to 80+ years old are invited to participate in the standardized patient program. A Standardized Patient is a healthy individual trained to act out the role of a patient through common health examinations in a controlled environment for healthcare learners.
A standardized patient will:
¿Learn patient-specific information including symptoms, history, physical findings, personality and/or behavior of the pretend patient
¿Use body language, emotions, personality and physical findings to appear as an actual patient
¿Respond to questions asked by the learner and possibly undergo a specific examination related to the case
¿Provide feedback to the learner through the use of a checklist or verbal communication
¿Receive compensation for participation

All ethnicities and genders are encouraged to apply. Interested individuals should have flexible schedules, reliable transportation, a good memory, the ability to give and receive feedback and enjoy working with people.
