College Station Cleft-Craniofacial Team Clinics
The Beautiful Community Smiles Cleft Palate Team conducts team evaluations in the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) at the Scott & White College Station University Drive Clinic. Each patient is seen in appropriate individual evaluations by team members. During the appointments, each patient is evaluated for general health, psychological needs, hearing and ear function, speech and feeding, facial form, palatal function, dental needs, and orthodontic and surgical needs. Team members discuss evaluations and plan the ongoing treatment of the child.
Within four weeks of the appointment, patients receive a copy of the evaluations in a Comprehensive Treatment Plan which includes recommendations for the next 6-12 months. This report can be sent to any healthcare professional that the family selects.
Each patient is seen by the team periodically. Progress is assessed and surgical procedures are planned to incorporate the most appropriate timing for growth and the needs of the patient.
