Weakness

ExitCare ImageWeakness is a lack of strength. You may feel weak all over your body or just in one part of your body. Weakness can be serious. In some cases, you may need more medical tests.

HOME CARE

  • Rest.

  • Eat a well-balanced diet.

  • Try to exercise every day.

  • Only take medicines as told by your doctor.

GET HELP RIGHT AWAY IF:

  • You cannot do your normal daily activities.

  • You cannot walk up and down stairs, or you feel very tired when you do so.

  • You have shortness of breath or chest pain.

  • You have trouble moving parts of your body.

  • You have weakness in only one body part or on only one side of the body.

  • You have a fever.

  • You have trouble speaking or swallowing.

  • You cannot control when you pee (urinate) or poop (bowel movement).

  • You have black or bloody throw up (vomit) or poop.

  • Your weakness gets worse or spreads to other body parts.

  • You have new aches or pains.

MAKE SURE YOU:

  • Understand these instructions.

  • Will watch your condition.

  • Will get help right away if you are not doing well or get worse.
