Care After

ExitCare Image These instructions give you information on caring for yourself after your procedure. Your doctor may also give you more specific instructions. Call your doctor if you have any problems or questions after your procedure.

HOME CARE

  • You may go back to your normal diet and activities right away.

  • Drink enough fluids to keep your pee (urine) clear or pale yellow.

  • If you have a hard time pooping (constipation), ask your doctor if you should take a medicine to help you poop (laxative).

GET HELP RIGHT AWAY IF:

  • You have a very hard time pooping.

  • You cannot pass gas.

  • You have belly (abdominal) pain that gets worse.

  • You have red, itchy spots (hives) on your skin.

  • Your throat gets puffy (swells).

  • You have trouble breathing.

  • You have a fever.

  • You have a hard time pooping for more than 3 days.

  • Your poop looks white or chalky after 3 days.

  • You have cramps, pain, or watery poop (diarrhea).

  • You feel sick to your stomach (nauseous), or you throw up (vomit).

MAKE SURE YOU:

  • Understand these instructions.

  • Will watch your condition.

  • Will get help right away if you are not doing well or get worse.
