Care After

Refer to this sheet in the next few weeks. These instructions provide you with information on caring for yourself after your procedure. Your caregiver also may give you specific instructions. Your treatment has been planned according to the most current medical practices, but problems sometimes occur. Call your caregiver if you have any problems or questions after your procedure.

HOME CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Protect and care for your eye while it heals as directed by your caregiver.  

  • Take medicine as directed by your caregiver.

  • Only return to activities as directed by your caregiver. Your activities may be restricted until the proper healing has taken place.

  • If you use contact lenses, do not use them again until your caregiver approves.

  • Do not swim, drive, or operate machinery until your caregiver approves.  

  • Keep all follow-up appointments as directed by your caregiver.  

SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL CARE IF:

  • You have new vision problems not present before the procedure.

  • You have new or unusual pain in the affected eye.

  • Your vision started to improve, and then your original vision problem returns.
