Plasminogen, Fibrinolysin

This is a blood test which is used to diagnose a lack of plasminogen in the body. Plasminogen is a protein that is needed in the clotting process in order to help break clots up. It is in decreased levels in cases in which there are clotting problems going on throughout the body. It is also a protein that is made in the liver so it is decreased in the case of liver diseases.

No preparation or fasting is necessary.
