Plantar Warts

Plantar warts are growths on the bottom of your foot. Warts are caused by a germ.

HOME CARE

  • Soak your foot in warm water. Dry your foot when you are done. Remove the top layer of softened skin, then apply any medicine as told by your doctor.

  • Remove any bandages daily. File off extra wart tissue. Repeat this as told by your doctor until the wart goes away.

  • Only use medicine as told by your doctor.

  • Use a bandage with a hole in it (doughnut bandage) to relieve pain.Put the hole over the wart.

  • Wear shoes and socks and change them daily.

  • Keep your foot clean and dry.

  • Check your feet regularly.

  • Avoid contact with warts on other people.

  • Have your warts checked by your doctor.

The treated skin becomes red, puffy (swollen), or painful.
