Ovarian Cyst

An ovarian cyst is a sac filled with fluid or blood. This sac is attached to the ovary. Some cysts go away on their own. Other cysts need treatment.

HOME CARE

  • Only take medicine as told by your doctor.

  • Follow up with your doctor as told.

GET HELP RIGHT AWAY IF:

  • You develop sudden pain.

  • Your belly (abdomen) becomes large or puffy (swollen).

  • You have a hard time peeing (totally emptying your bladder).

  • You feel sick most of the time.

  • You have a temperature by mouth above 102° F (38.9° C), not controlled by medicine.

  • Your periods are late, not regular, or painful.

  • Your belly or pelvic pain does not go away.

  • You have pressure on your bladder.

  • You have pain during sex.

  • You feel fullness, pressure, or discomfort in your belly.

  • You lose weight for no reason.

  • Will get help right away if you are not doing well or get worse.
