Jaundice

Jaundice is when the skin, whites of the eyes, and mucous membranes turn a yellowish color. It is caused by high levels of bilirubin in the blood. Bilirubin is produced by the normal breakdown of red blood cells. Jaundice may mean the liver or bile system in your body is not working right.
