Care After

ExitCare ImageThese instructions give you information on caring for yourself after your procedure. Your doctor may also give you more specific instructions. Call your doctor if you have any problems or questions after your procedure.

HOME CARE

  • Return to your normal diet and activities as told by your doctor.

  • Change your bandages (dressings) as told by your doctor. If skin glue (adhesive) was used, it will peel off in 7 days.

  • Only take medicines as told by your doctor.

  • Ask your doctor when you can bathe and get your wound wet.

GET HELP RIGHT AWAY IF:

  • You see more than a small spot of blood coming from the wound.

  • You have redness, puffiness (swelling), or pain.

  • You see yellowish-white fluid (pus) coming from the wound.

  • You have a fever.

  • You notice a bad smell coming from the wound or bandage.

  • You have a rash, trouble breathing, or any allergy problems.

MAKE SURE YOU:

  • Understand these instructions.

  • Will watch your condition.

  • Will get help right away if you are not doing well or get worse.
