Care After

Refer to this sheet in the next few weeks. These instructions provide you with information on caring for yourself after your procedure. Your caregiver may also give you more specific instructions. Your treatment has been planned according to current medical practices, but problems sometimes occur. Call your caregiver if you have any problems or questions after your procedure.

HOME CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Take all medicine as directed by your caregiver.

  • Eat your regular diet.

  • Drink enough fluids to keep your urine clear or pale yellow.

  • Avoid sexual intercourse until your caregiver says it is okay.

  • Do not lift anything heavy for the rest of the day.

SEEK MEDICAL CARE IF:

You have pain in the abdomen.

SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL CARE IF:

  • You have persistent vaginal bleeding.

  • You have severe uterine cramping.

  • You leak fluid from your vagina.

  • You have a fever.

  • You do not feel the baby moving as much as it normally does.

MAKE SURE YOU:

  • Understand these instructions.

  • Will watch your condition.

  • Will get help right away if you are not doing well or get worse.
